RE & PHSE
Religious Education (RE)
At Goodwyn RE forms part of the basic curriculum. We adopt a multi-faith approach to the subject emphasising understanding and respect. Collective worship takes place daily in the form of school and Key Stage assemblies. Our aim is to encourage children to think of others, to develop a sense of belonging and to have respect for their own and others’ cultures.
PHSE and Citizenship (Personal Health and Social Education)
PHSE and Citizenship are taught at Goodwyn to give pupils the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to become responsible members of the community. We aim to encourage the children to take responsibility, to have respect for themselves and others, to think for themselves and to lead a healthy lifestyle.
We encourage the children to develop a sense of community and belonging by supporting various charities through a variety of fundraising days and events throughout the school year.
We have a School Council on which Key Stage Two year groups are represented. This allows the children to have their say in the success of the school.
