Early Years (3-5 Years)
Children are introduced gently and sympathetically into a secure and nurturing learning environment. They are given time to explore, investigate and talk about their indoor and outdoor surroundings. The range of activities in these areas promotes their language development and their creativity.
The curriculum in Early Years is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Emphasis is on ‘learning through play’. Children develop self confidence in social routines, structured play and beginning the academic foundations The children at nursery level are introduced to pre-reading and pre-number skills which will help them to be ready for their transition to Lower Kindergarten.
Nursery and LKG children are provided with the opportunity to engage in structured play within a variety of topics that follow the International Primary School Curriculum. Children are provided with many opportunities to enhance their personal, physical, social and emotional development. Creative play is fostered as children engage in role playing, puppet shows and other activities that support communication, language and literacy development.
Each child’s progress is assessed and closely monitored as part of an ongoing process. A Learning Journal is kept which illustrates each child’s achievement as they progress through Early Years.
